Primary (Local) Review The jury at the two hubs, “Japan” and “overseas” will assess works based on a points system, and will rank them according to the total scores acquired.

1)  Works from two divisions: "Open category" and "Student category" will be judged.
2)  A total of 160 works, 80 each from “Japan” and “overseas” will be selected as finalists.
Final Review The jury consists of Japanese judges and judges from overseas who will be judged by a point system, and will rank them according to the total scores acquired.

1)  The award winners will be selected from each category, from the works that are given top total scores by the jury
(excluding Jury’s Special Awards).
2)  “Selected works” mean all the works that did not win prizes from among the finalists.
* We will publish the scores and rankings of the award- winning works.
Jury's special awards The Jury's special awards will be given to the works highly rated by each judge.
Please note that the first to sixth prizes in each category will not be eligible for this award.
[Open Category] Gold Award Certificate + trophy + extra prize. The winning work will be exhibited at Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and Toshima City Office. The winner’s name and the winning work will be published in art magazines and the pictorial record. The highest award of Art Olympia. The winning work will be acquired by Art Olympia in exchange for the prize money to the winner.
First prize Prize Money US$120,000
[Open Category] Silver Award Certificate + extra prize. The winning work will be exhibited at Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and Toshima City Office. The winner’s name and the winning work will be published in art magazines and the pictorial record. The winning work will be acquired by Art Olympia in exchange for the prize money to the winner.
Second prize Prize Money US$30,000

Certificate + extra prize. The artwork will be exhibited in Tokyo; the winner’s name will be featured in an art magazine.

* All works that did not win prizes from among those that passed the primary review of the judging (the finalists).
If a work entered in the Student category wins a top prize (one of the first to sixth prizes) in both All-Entrants and Student categories, the award with the higher prize money will be given ahead of the other.
In both All-Entrants and Student categories, if a work wins a top prize (one of the first to sixth prizes) as well as the Jury and committee’s special award with the higher prize money will be given ahead of the other.
